Pricing will be determined upon consultation and design choice decided upon between my customer and myself. I allow my customers the opportunity to express their own creative thinking. If they ask my opinion that is when I advise them as to what I feel would look best on their quilt. Some of my customers give me their quilt and say "Do what you think best". I love these opportunities as they allow me to grow as a quilter and they fine tune my confidence.
Batting: I keep a supply of Hobbs 80/20, Hobbs Polydown, and Hobbs Black 80/20 for my customers. I charge 7.00 per yard and send back any left over pieces with your quilt. I allow my customers to bring or send Quilters Dream batting if they wish. I do not accept batting bought in the rolled packaging as in your local small town stores. They are very wrinkled and make it easy to have bunched up batting under your top.
Thread: I offer a full line of Signature 100% Cotton and Signature Varigated as well as the entire line of King Tut thread. My machine is a little finicky about thread so I do not allow my customers to send thread. My thread charge is 5.00 for Signature and 10.00 for King Tut. If your quilt is larger than average or demands extremely close quilting, your thread charge will be higher.
Quilt Preparation:
a. Please have your backing no less than 10 inches wider and longer than your quilt top. This gives me ample fabric just in case I have to square the backing before I load it. If you supply your own batting, it should be no less than 6 inches wider and longer than your quilt top.
b. Please press your seams flat and clip all stray threads.
c. Please make sure you have no open seams or pleats in your piecing...Repair any that you might find upon inpsection.
d. Please advise me if you want your quilt to have a designated top edge.
e. Please do not thread or pin baste your layers together. They must all be seperate when it comes to me for quilting. Removal of basting will be billed at 20.00 per hour, charged in hour increments.
f. If you have pets in the home, please take the time to remove pet hair from your top and backing. This transfers on to my leaders and some of my customers are allergic to pet dander. This is just common courtesy.
